It’s possible I may have added some things to my mom’s nativity scene when she wasn’t looking. 

OH MY GOD. this was the nativity i had growing up! i still have mary hanging out in my room somewhere. mom was always really amused and perturbed by the fact that…something about the plastic smelled REALLY good. and the bottoms are hollow. so i’d walk around with my nose jammed up mary’s skirt, sniffing it.

WELP.

i remember the texture of that ladder so clearly. i still have the lamb, too. and a wiseman. SOMEWHERE in this house.
